Pottery Painting Party details/terms and conditions

Parties are of 2 hour duration (1.5 hours for 4-6 year olds)
(PLEASE NOTE: An additional charge of £5 per child will be made if the party does not finish on time). The party organiser is welcome to arrive up to a maximum of 10 minutes early.
Minimum number of children is 8 and we can accommodate up to 40
Children paint for up to 1 ¼ hours, we then clear and wipe down the tables and the party organiser can then lay out food and drink, followed by a birthday cake. This will comfortably take up the 2 hours
Due to the shorter attention span of younger children, parties for those aged 4 – 6 will be for 1.5 hours. If the party runs over, you have the additional ½ hour and parents don’t usually mind waiting. This relieves the stress for the party organiser, as lots of young children running round a pottery shop can get VERY stressful! Bringing a pass-the-parcel is a good idea, in case they finish quickly.

A deposit of £25 per table (max 10 seats per table) is required to secure a booking, together with the completion of a booking form. The deposit is non-refundable, but we will transfer it, once, to another date if 3 weeks notice is given.

Pottery must be ordered in advance to ensure we have enough in stock, and it is strongly recommended that all children paint the same item of pottery (each child will produce unique work – no 2 items will look the same), as this saves on upsets on the day…

Parental supervision is required. Staff will instruct the children on how things work and will be on-hand to give help/advice throughout, but do not solely run the party. (The party organiser is responsible for the children while they are in the shop).

In the rare event that a child's piece gets damaged during firing, the child will be invited to paint a new piece.

All pottery paints are non-toxic and conform to child safety standards, and should wash easily out of fabric.

Food

Food and drink should be consumed after the painting, as sticky fingers will make marks on the pottery. You are welcome to bring your own food, drink and a cake or order a pizza from next door which will be delivered at the right time (not available Sat 10.00 or Sun 11.00 unless booked in advance with The Crafty Cafe). You may also decorate the table(s) with balloons (2 x helium balloons per table look great). (NO PARTY BLOWERS OR POPPERS WILL BE ALLOWED).

Serving Supplies
For an additional cost of £1 per child, we will supply glasses with straws, plates and napkins.

Health Issues
Please inform us in advance of any health issues a child may have, so we can try to ensure we know what to do in the event of a problem.
